Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered in a search tool is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its own response. Bates County Court Docket does not keep its own log or database of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to the site may be retained to handle the correspondence. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the hosting environment may collect routine technical information about the visit, including:
- the device’s IP address
- browser version and browser type
- device type and operating system
- visited pages and time spent on them
- the referring website, when available
- the date and time of each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that may be stored on a visitor’s device. They help measure aggregate traffic patterns and page performance. Browser controls can block cookies, although that choice may affect parts of the site.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact information may be used for the following operational purposes:
- operating and maintaining the site
- routing a query to the appropriate search partner
- reviewing aggregate page use and usefulness
- identifying and correcting technical problems
- delivering advertising that may be interest based
No Court-Record Data on File
Bates County Court Docket does not host, compile, sell, or maintain a database of case records or personal court information. It provides general routing information for the Bates County Circuit Clerk, Missouri Circuit Courts, and Missouri Case.net. It is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not assembled into reports about other people.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes used on some pages. Their privacy notices, retention periods, and disclosure practices control data submitted to their tools. Review the provider’s policy before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to court, clerk, statewide search, legal-aid, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination’s privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising partners may measure activity across websites to deliver targeted advertising. That activity is administered through their systems.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information can be disclosed to:
- the search partner that processes a submitted query
- analytics vendors used to measure traffic and performance
- advertising networks that place ads on the site
- a government body or law-enforcement agency responding to a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected system can promise complete security, so an incident can never be ruled out.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. If a minor’s information may have been submitted, contact the site so it can be removed.
Your Data Rights
Data rights can depend on the visitor’s location and applicable law. For Bates County court-access information, Missouri’s Sunshine Law, Chapter 610, and Missouri Court Operating Rule 4 address access to public records and judicial files. A visitor may also ask to:
- request a copy of site-held information about that visitor
- seek correction of inaccurate contact information
- ask for deletion of site-held information where appropriate
- opt out of certain processing when an applicable law provides that option
